Some major upgrades are coming to the local area, providing supporting infrastructure to The Lower Acre development in Horton Heath.
We’ve partnered with Mildren Construction to enhance the foot and cycle path routes. Mildren Construction, a trusted contractor with over 30 years of experience, are proud to bring their expertise to the Eastleigh Borough. They’re working closely with us to ensure the works are delivered with minimal disruption to the community.
In Hedge End, much-needed footpath improvements to the path connecting Bubb Lane to Hedge End Railway Station are set to commence in February. The upgraded shared-use path will be 3 meters wide, providing plenty of space for both pedestrians and cyclists. The improvements will include lighting added to the path, improving safety and visibility; this is a priority for us as many students from Deer Park School frequent the footpath daily as well as commuters and residents. This improvement is all about promoting sustainable travel, making it more convenient for people to leave their cars behind and opt for greener ways to get around. As we are treating the environment as a priority, the team will take great care to work outside root protection areas.
In Horton Heath, a new pedestrian crossing is also set to be installed with work predicted to commence in the coming weeks. The crossing will be positioned along Burnetts Lane, between Meadowsweet Way and Bramley Gardens. This crossing provides a more prominent link between the existing footpath that runs across One Horton Heath into the village.
These upgrades will not only improve connectivity but promote safer travel on foot or by bicycle, reducing the number of cars needed to travel locally.
